Before you can achieve a flawless skin, you need to know how to determine your skin type. You can do this by inspecting your naked face in a mirror in a normal light of day. Generally, a skin that is oily is shiny along the areas of your nose and forehead where oil glands are predominant. Oily skin also has the tendency to be invaded easily by pimples. Large pores are also indicative of oily skin. A skin that is dry feels taut and desiccated. A dry skin looks blistered, red and coarse. Normal skin has an even feel and tone. A skin that is a combination of dry and oily may be shiny in some areas while dry around the edges.

The best regimen to get a flawless skin is proper diet. Although, experts used say that oily foods and chocolates have nothing to do with your pimples and that what you put into your mouth doesn't really contribute to the enhancement of the quality of your skin, but recent studies prove the theory wrong. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables, instead of processed and other unhealthy foods, can do a lot to keep your skin free from unwanted blemishes. Almost all kinds of fruits and vegetables are rich in anti-oxidants which help foil free-radicals from harming your body.

To create the illusion of unblemished skin, you can apply concealer. Any marks and spots on your face can be reduced by using a concealer. A small amount of medicated concealer can be applied to skin blemishes to make them disappear in sight. For dark circles under the eyes, you can apply tiny dots just under the dark areas and stroke the application upward to blend with your skin tone. If you opt not to use a concealer that is medicated, make sure that the ingredients are free from harmful chemicals and it is recommended by your dermatologist.

Keeping your skin moisturized is also the way to obtain flawless skin. Use a moisturizer that can saturate your skin intensely, especially after you have taken a shower or after washing your face. Your pores are wide open when you take a bath so this makes it the ideal time to feed your skin with all the needed nutrients. Avoid using harsh soaps because they rob your skin of its natural oils, leaving it rough and dry. A face wash with a gentle formula is the better alternative. Do not use hot water to cleanse your face. Lukewarm or cold water will do the job just fine. For a natural skin moisturizer, you can apply fresh Aloe Vera gel on your skin.

Never forget to apply a liberal amount of sunscreen before going out. A good tan can make you look gorgeous and healthy but you may be paying the price later on in your life. Keep your body hydrated by drinking lots of water, especially during hot season. You can also drink plenty of fresh juice to give your skin a healthy glow. If an acne breakout is starting to appear on your skin, take care of it immediately before it can start to spread to other areas. Avoid eating greasy foods and make sure that you get plenty of sleep to always give your face a fresh look in the morning.
